HBF Winter Retreat 2013

I would like to take this opportunity to thank God for what He has done through our HBF winter retreat this past weekend (December 28-29, 2013). It was truly a blessing to spend time with our precious high school students and to hear their genuine key verse reflections. We held many activities such as indoor ice skating, outdoor team games and tubing down a snow hill. Not only was this HBF retreat fun and relaxing, the word of God was the glue that held everything together. The first night, Sam Toh gave an awesome opening message highlighting events throughout the past year which revealed God's glory and revealed how God is a God who answers prayer. After the opening message, we heard each of the students' key verse testimonies. God's glory was further revealed as they each honestly shared about what they thought about the past year 2013 and their future hopes for the upcoming year. God is surely working in each of our students' hearts and we praise God for this. The next day, we reflected on 2 Samuel 5 for daily bread and went into group Bible studies to prepare our hearts and minds for the main message by Francis Choi on 2 Samuel 6. The key verse for HBF 2014 comes from this chapter: 2 Samuel 6:14-15 “Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.” Francis gave a powerful message on how we should worship our Holy God and how we need to correct our hearts, our minds and our attitudes as we approach the throne of God and enter into His Presence. This was a wonderful time to end HBF in 2013 and we are excited and hopeful for what God will do as we enter into the New Year.

Happy New year and God bless!
